Major Moscow's Strikes Cut Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and applying sanctions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets attacked the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes struck electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Local officials said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor was killed and three other people were hurt.

The attacks succeed nights of air raids in the region, sections of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the country's energy grid, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

He said energy workers and government agencies were bracing for more assaults.
